Afmadhow is closer to the Kenyan border crossing I believe, and unlike 1991 when people would cross into Kenya and be in the US/Canada in weeks, these poor souls have nowhere to go.

1991 when Civil war started, me and my family and others come to Afmadow and it was rainy season and we had to stay there for sometime. Afmadow is settled by a sub-clan of Mohamed Subeyr, its not a Multi-cultural city and everybody knows, everybody. I know Ali sonkor, that guy was even there in 1991 as a Mayor or Ugaaska beesha. Most ppl are nice, peaceful ppl.
