Muqdisho is derived from the Arabic root: ???? which stands for 'Holy/Revere'. Jerusalem is labeled as Bayt al-Muqaddas [The Holy House].

Beled Weyn = Big City
It use to be the only big city between Hargeysa and Mogadishu
Bula Burte = means The city of the Burte, It has famous Burte soil
It is the only place in Somali where you can find the Burte Soil , that soil is white, soft, and heavy walaahi.
That is where the name of Bula Burte came from.
Jalalaqsi , I need to ask the elders.
Moqokori came from the Tree called Moqoy which you can find from Moqokori, mabaax till Aadan Yabaal.
Coomaad.
It has special soil which is called Coomaadi, It is red, wet, and smells like uunsi. Caraf badan walaahi.

Barebera actually refers to the notion that the original barbers of north africa were originally from the Barbera region of Somaliland. So i think the name could orignate from the there.

I use to think that as well but the name Berbera has also an Arabic meaning which is incomprehensible cries.
