That got put on hold when I had to come to Columbus sorta last minute. All I was planning to get was a 37-42" flat-screen LCD tv and I didn't really see any great deals on that last minute.

They had a 37" LCD TV for like $600 a week or so ago. I should have got it then but it was my bills paycheck

Saaxib $600 for a 37 inch HDTV is a good deal man. But I wonder how good the quality of that thing is. I stay with brand names just stay on the safe side. I had items, generic ones, that I got for cheap that fell apart before I left the damn store. If I was to get a large HDTV, I would get a Samsung. Their flat screen/panel televisions look really nice and they have the best quality from what I have seen so far.

No doubt the SAMSUNGS, Sony's, Phillips are in another class, but I don't know about paying nearly twice as much for them......... that website I gave you will have some good stuff esp. in the New Year's tho. Another OK one I've heard is Westinghouse, but I can't stand how the VIZIOs look......I wouldn't get a VIZIO....that might be what you think of when you see the cheap LCDtvs

As far as the cheaper ones, I have found OLEVIA made by Syntax Brillian (US company) to be really good. I bought one for my family's house 32" for like $600 last year and it was really good I'm satisfied with it....I mean they are satisfied w/ it since I only come once in a while and watch it .....it was a really big upgrade from the 1970s 19" CRT w/ barely functional remote (u know how Somalis are ) It's got DVI/VGA input, S-Video, all that stuff. It's 720p but the ones going now are at least 1080i which is a little bit under 1080p but 1080p is quite expensive right now.


All in all, I think the OLEVIA is at the best performance pricepoint now.......I would rather spend the $300-500 I save on the TV on a good surround sound system 8)
