Almost everyday back in 1991/2. Once every afternoon my uncle bought us glasses of Camel Milk from Ladies who came to the market to buy goods while their camels drunk water at the wells outside the small town I was staying. At first, it tastes strange, but you get used to it if you drink it on a daily basis. It makes you strong and cleans your digestive system as well. Very healthy. I in fact had more difficult time drinking the warm and foamy cow milk freshly milked every morning when we moved to the deeper badiye for few weeks. I kept asking for sugar and people had fun at my expense.

I miss caano geel.

In Jilib I couldn't get it regularly, but, from time to time a young geeljire in the area would bring a quart soda bottle full and stand outside the western edge of town until somebody bought it. You had to bring your own container. It was less than a schilling; I think 60 cents.

I think he must have stored the milk in a dhiil because it had that smokey flavor that always reminded me of bacon. I drank it, but never did get enough to suffer the gastric consequences. It was ok, but I would not want to have to live on it.
