Somaliland & Northern Somalia in General:

Post by The-Screw »

has anyone been there recently? how secure is it there? if for example i were an employer looking to expand and wanted to open an office and create atleast 100 jobs there, A: how does the state tax services work? B: will i be able to find qualified, educated people for hire? or if i were to import workers and assume all resposibllities will the local officials allow it? are they corrupt?

my mind is working overtime these past couple of months, idea after idea after idea keeps popping in my head, i refuse to work a 9-5 job and become part of the herd, somethngs gotta give...give me some info people.

Screw I know you are a bit naive, but unless it is Mogadishu and to a lesser extent Bosaaso, there is not point in opening business anywhere your clan does not live in.

wot u wanna do is a good idea, thats exactly how i felt last yr so i packed up my bags and headed to djibouti for 6 month, i dont know much about somaliland but in africa the 1st rule is "its not bout wot u know but who know"<---thats the most important thing u need to remember before doing business there. Its all bout networking, i suggest you go there for coupple of weeks and find out for urself, no matter wot people say to u its best seeing it with ur own eyes. The other thing i noticed the mentality is totally different and patience is very important as well.
