Are you asking marexaans too or just the dabayacos?

Marexaans want Kismayo because they feel that it is theirs and others are just out to steal their land.
Dabayacos want Kismayo because they want to have a presence in the south.
Cagdheers want Kismaayo because they want to control a large city in Somalia since the majority of them live outside of Somalia.

Mjs want Kismayo because it is (or they think) is rightfully theres.

Ogadeni want Kismayo because, they are homeless. Perpetual refugee without land.


Marexaan want kismayo because unlike their arid, infertile 'Gedo' city land--kismayo is greener in pasture.


The Hawiyas in Kismyayo are just hired guns for the safeguard of the said darood clans.
