At school the somali girls who dared to date the madow guys were 'cool' more sophisticated and even the faraxs found them more facininating..(probably because they were more elusive) even the ugly ones faraxs were obsessed with because they dated the madow guys..

Me and my crew were the 'boring' ones who didn't date the madow guys, who didn't go to the clubs and parties..

Even we were to some extent facinated with these girls, because we felt restricted and they were like rebels..they had freedom and they stuck up 2 fingers at the controlling somali traditions..They were the source of all the latest gossip and drama. Whereas I personally felt an overwhelming guilt trip from my parents and brothers, I would never have dared to do anything these girls did..
