Believe it or not there are some neighborhoods that look untouched... They should get rid of all those destroyed building though because it makes the city look even worse..
As for the militias i have a feeling their Hawiye, the way they seem to be moving through the city...
They really seem to fear the shabaab though lol..

Ofcourse they're scared of Al Shabaab....they're child soldiers swapping mobile porn videos. This is just like something to do for them, they are not professional soldiers.
I'm sure the Ethio soldiers do most of the work they just get uniforms and get assigned some simple jobs.

Alchemist,
I didn't see the faces clearly but the reporter was calling them child soldiers when they were showing the mobile porn videos & were chewing qaat.
That's something ee ciyaal ku qoslaan....what 20-some year old giggles at mobile porn videos to reporters?
But some of them when they were talking about Shabaab looked older, but waa iska mooriyaan the Shabaab are probably better trained than them, more determined, and willing to die more than the Qaat-drugged mooriyaan.

About the porn, couple of years ago i visited africa.. I remember enough times being in a internet cafe with a bunch of somali youths straight out of Somalia, most of the dudes use to watch porn right there in the cafe shop, yelling and laughing out loud, it was crazy walahi.. This shit was all new to them i guess...It got up to a point where the store owner had to post a letter on the wall which read no "sex sites" lol Oh yeah all of them were grown men in their 20s....
Remember when the courts closed down a cinema, one of the reason was because it use to show porn. lol

A very nice video indeed walahi cause it give me a great out look of Mogadishu.
The fact reminds people are not dieing because they are starving they are dieing because of War. Destruction and anarchy remains because the government is unable to go to work because there is resistance still in Mogadishu and until the resistance give up or die out Mogadishu will remain in the status quote.
Mogadishu isn't an humanitarian crisis as the reporter says it's something else.
Food isn't the problem finding lasting peace IS!!!
The police officer made my mother cry as he patrols a street that has so little traffic but was once Broadway for Somalia.
People are able to find a way to cope with difficulty because God is on there side.
