Former president Laurent Kabila was married to a Rwandan woman. The woman had a boy, Joseph, from a previous marriage in Rwanda.
The boy took his step father's name Kabila. He became Joseph Kabila.
When Kabila senior died, Joseph Kabila was sworn in as president of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He is 36 years old and hopes to rule Congo for the next 40 years. elections are set for December 2048 to choose a successor.
