What Happened To The Ummah?
I was listening to a song by Outlandish where they keep asking "What happened to the Muslim ummah? We used to be kings & queens, ruling continents, spreading the word of Allah, now we are nothing more than pawns in a chess game that most of us don't even understand."
Seriously, what happened to the Muslim ummah? Why have we all of a sudden become the weakest link in world affairs? 2nd class citizens, bystanders who rarely ever make policies, but follow them.
-Because we abandoned our deen?
-Because we have become disunited?
-Because we have busied ourselves in seeking individual gains?

Precious,
But, what about the people they rule? Bystanders who just sit & watch while the worst of them rule over them.

Precious,
I really think its because we have become so self-absorbed. People rarely ever think about doing things for the greater good or for the community. Every man for himself, just like the Western societies.
Here is the Nasheed:

Re: What Happened To The Ummah?
Koronto91,
The reason is because we are slaves to our own lusts & hawaa. The Sahaba went through years of purification.
One scholar was talking about the Sahaba and he said 2 things which stuck with me:
1. Allah took the dunya away from their hands until the dunya was no longer in their hearts. When that happened, he put the dunya back into their hands b/c it was no longer in their hearts.
2. Allah had put them through the fire of the trials of this dunya to purify them like putting gold in the fire removes the impurities.
Whether we like it or not, we still have the dunya in our hearts & we want it in our hands. Our hearts are still impure and even if we get a little bit of the dunya we will go out of control.

Re: What Happened To The Ummah?
Koronto if every and each of us stop blaming other and start with our selves and families.
every nation ama ummah has ups and down.
to know who is true for his deen or her deen and who is not.
but basically this is consequesces of our action.
Allah qoom halkoda ma badalo illa ay iyaga is badalan.
even basic physics imformation says
every action has opposite or rad fe3el mosawi laha. lol
