Hey Gedoboy, watch that match between Lyle and Foreman. It is long and over 20 minutes but watch it when you have some free time. It is an awesome fight. There was a fight between Gatti and Ward that ended in a similar fashion but I can't locate the video on youtube.

Yeah but the guy stopped counting at 9 seconds but you could see a pause where he was trying to gauge him so he realized that at 9 seconds it was done. He didn't even have his mouthpiece in his mouth and looked done.
.... I don't even think his eyes were open.


BTW, I saw a little clip of the fight and it looked good. I'll watch it tomorrow.

I'm not the biggest boxing guy, but I watch the video of Buster Douglus knocking Tyson out. Tyson got rocked that night, and Buster probably had angels helping him

Buster was not a good boxer. He got couple of good shots on Tyson which landed on his face and this resulted in Tyson's eye completely closing. Tyson is the best saaxib but he is not a smart guy. He reminds me a lot of one of my brothers. lol Just reckless.

Qansa, also remember they were fighting in Tokyo and Buster's mother just died, he didn't get to see her so he didn't fear Tyson like the rest of the people did. In the later fights, people were just scared of Tyson from the getgo.

Yea, it was his lucky day. If he didn't get that lucky shot in the eye he would have been toast with one of Tyson's deadly upper cuts.

It wasn't about the cut even though it helped a lot. He kept Tyson at bay & off guard with his effective left jab & some right leads.

....but minute 36:10 is kinda controversial b/c Buster Douglas was at around the same place where Tyson was at 9 seconds but the Ref let him keep fighting.

...that very next round I think is when Tyson went down for good.

I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but that fight looked like it was set up. But one thing that is for sure though is that Tyson, while a heavy puncher, did not have that good of a defense. The thing was that most boxers never lasted a long time with him in the ring because of his crazy uppercuts that made boxers remember the day they were born so they never really got an opportunity to do some damage to the guy. lol Overall though, Tyson is the ultimate knockout king. His fights are not exciting to watch though because they end way too fast.

sxb, there's NO way it could have been a setup.....who would benefit from such a thing?

Oh yeah there's no doubt watching Tyson was amazing.....his speed & power was incredible almost impossible.....I still watch his fights (& his crazy statements) for entertainment when I'm bored.

I think he totally underestimated the fight w/ Buster Douglas and he kept dropping his guard.

The thing w/ Tyson is he loses his discipline and gets frustrated after a while and tries to deliver a knockout blow.......


Like the downfall of so many people, he became cocky 'n confident and underestimated his opponent.
