going through depression ... now his ayeeyo who took care of him has som illnes(not sue wefer its cancer)

Im sorry to hear that, here are my two cents if they help!

Just tell the borther to have faith, everything in life will fail us at one point but the only thing that will never fail us is our faith. Also walal you have reassure him that Allah SWT places the heaviest burden on those who can carry its weight.I know its is easier said than done but everything that Allah swt bring to us no matter how bad we should accept it as Allah swt knows what best for us. No matter how bad your situation is there is someone worse of than you so always count your blessing no matter how small they may seem. Tell him to fear Allah SWT and be paitent; this life isnt ours to throw away. Life is to precious to even contenplate suicide.

Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. (Al-Anbiya 21: 35)

One of the most important precepts is that we are being tested throughout our whole lives. Allah tests our sincerity and our faith on different occasions. He may give favours to test whether we are grateful to Him or not. He may create difficulties, for us, to reveal whether we behave with patience or not:

"every soul shall have a taste of death: and we test you by evil and by good by way of trial. To us you will be returned. (surat al-anbiya 21:35)

But (I think) for my part that He is God, My Lord, and none shall I associate with my Lord. Why didst thou not, as thou wentest into thy garden, say: 'God's will (be done)! There is no power but with God!' If thou dost see me less than thee in wealth and sons, It may be that my Lord will give me something better than thy garden, and that He will send on thy garden thunderbolts (by way of reckoning) from heaven, making it (but) slippery sand! Or the water of the garden will run off underground so that thou wilt never be able to find it.' So his fruits (and enjoyment) were encompassed (with ruin), and he remained twisting and turning his hands over what he had spent on his property, which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundations, and he could only say, 'Woe is me! Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and Cherisher!' Nor had he numbers to help him against God, nor was he able to deliver himself. There, the (only) protection comes from God, the True One. He is the Best to reward, and the Best to give success" (Al-Kahf 32-44)

Someone who does not think, will understand the facts only after he dies, when he gives account before Allah, but then it will be too late. Allah says in the Qur'an that on the day of account, everybody will think and see the truth:



Have you ever thought about the fact that you did not exist before you were conceived and then born into the world and that you have come into existence from mere nothingness?



Have you ever thought of how your life passes away very quickly, and that you will grow old and become weak, and slowly lose your beauty, health and strength?


Have you ever thought about why people are so attached to a world from which they will soon depart when what they basically need is to strive for the Hereafter?
