One of my brothers friend who is an arab got married an english girl and manshaAllah she wears Nikhab and is practising more than a lot of xalimos that i know. that way you have both huh!!!!!!!!

From what I know, if a Muslim man wished to marry a non-Muslim woman:

1-She would have to be from the people of the book i.e. Christian or Jew.

2-She would have to be chaste and a practiser of her religion.

3-The only reason for the marriage would have to be so that she would be converted, there can never be "love" between a Muslim & a non-Muslim.

If those rules aren't obeyed, then the marriage is null.

I attended a lecture that specifically talked about this issue a couple of years ago. The cleric said that there can never be "love" or sentimental emotions between a Muslim and a non-Muslim, because a non-Muslim has transgressed & rejected Allah. The only way a Muslim man is permitted to marry a Christian or a Jew is if his only intention was to convert her, if he has other intentions, he shouldn't proceed with such a marriage.

As for her having Niya, that can be established from early on. Obviously, she would have to be chaste, pure and a devout follower of her religion (not a promiscous woman) and she must show interest in Islam. If she isn't interested in Islam and its clear she will never convert, then its adviced to leave such a woman alone.

Thanks for the info. I always thought it would be hard when you are trying to raise a child and the mother is not Muslim. That's putting yourself in a tight spot from the getgo esp. in this day & age where so many kids w/ Muslim parents don't even have an identity.

I don't think it would ever be something I would consider.

One of the biggest mistakes Muslims make is to follow the deen in a half-baked fashion, practising some things and never paying attention to the rules. For example, the issue of polygamy, men all marry 4 wives, but never follow the guidelines for this.

Everything that is permitted in Islam, there's a reasoning behind it. I see non-practising Muslim men marrying Gaalo women and then end up with kids who aren't Muslims, they will be held accountable for it.

Yeah there's always the risk. Maybe 100 years ago if I was a Muslim man in Europe or America I could see myself marrying a non-Muslim but now with whole Muslim communities of Muslimas I don't personally see the justification for it and that's not even going into the xalaal/xaraam of it.
