Daahir Rayaale going to America,,,, what is the story?

There are lots of rumours out there about this Rayaale visit to America.

Some are saying that the American foreign policy has shifted towards supporting Somaliland. Some are saying that, because the Pentagon has to meet a dead line in Oct next year to open the AFRICOM, they want to negotiate with Somaliland about Berbera to become the HQs of that new Command Centre.

But whatever the motive, it looks like this particular visit has a very deep effects on the future of Somaliland and the new direction of the American foreign policy towards the region. What are your takes on this?

not only will it have a deep effect on the future of somaliland but the future of the whole region.

i never trust the americans so i hope any somalilanders (leaders or otherwise) making deals with Lucifer should realy concider what they are letting themselves in.

At this stage of our state, I think we are not too concerned about the nature of the relationship. But what Somalilanders are interested in is whats on the table for them. THe first thing they are interested in is the US's position on the recognition of Somaliland. B/c lets face it, no Somalilander would support if the US insists of establishing its bases within Somaliland without recognising Somaliland as an independent country.

The Pentagon is fully aware of that fact and is pressing the State Department to work with Somaliland on that issue. The Pentagon understands that Berbera is the best possible position in the region to establish AfriCOM. The Americans had a huge military/navy base in Berbera in which they used uptil 1990s. Siyad Barre used to get more than 30 million dollars from the proceeds of renting out Berberat to the Americans and much much more in other forms of assistance.

I think this is what will happen.


riyaale will meet with the white house and would come to an agreement with the U.S

America will have an army base in "Somaliland" to carry out their agendas hunting terrorist and what not.

The U.S will NOT recognize somaliland but would support it with financial backing and a promise to pressure the African U.N.

In the long term Somaliland is fuked because of the heavily influxes of both Xabashis and Americans bringing in their own interest and sometimes colliding with the interest of the region.

I would advise Riyaale and Co to THINK about this considering that anything mareeykan touched turned out to be a failure in the last 50 years.
