What Is It About Mormonism?

Now that a member of the Mornom Church (Mitt Romney) is running for President the Morman religion is the focus. Most Americans don't realy know much about Mormonism, I think the big problem a lot of Christians, Jews and Muslims have with Mormonism is it's secrecy and because of that, there's a lot of unknowns. So my question is; can a Mormon talk about his/her religion sercets and bring out to the open....will that be something the church would allow a member to do? If not, why not?

No, I believe he is former member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (The Mormon Church).

I would rather have a Morman then a yahuud loving Evangelical

There is no secrecy except about what goes on in the Temple, and that pertains only to marriage, sealings, and rites pertaining to the dead. Mormon theology is an open book to anyone who asks. Check out the official website. Mormonism claims to be a re-establishment of the original Christian Church, which they say was bastardaized by both the Eastern and Western Roman State Churches.

Man was made in the image of God. God is a male figure and there is a persistant Mormon expectation that there is also a Heavenly Mother. Family is forever and transcends the material plane of existence. Jesus was the first to benefit from the resurrection, for which all Mormons hope. They expect to be re-united as families in Heaven and to have powers and strengths commensurate with their accomplishments and progeny in this life.

The key Mormon quote is: "As Man is, God once was, and as God is, Man may yet become." Jesus was only the first among the sons of God.

Just so you know, it was Evangelical mobs that burned the early Mormon communities out of Ohio, Missouri and Illinois, and murdered the first Mormon Prophet and his brother, beginning the Mormon exodus west to Utah in 1847.

Also, just so you know, I have a great, great grandfather who had five living wives and 76 living children when he wrote his autobiography in 1881. I am not a practicing Mormon, but I am also emphatically NOT an Evangelical!!!!

Grant...I was meaning to write "We", (as we can't write more than two words) instead I wrote "YOU" (as you,I /all of us)...I have been trying to post something for a while and wasn't able to.... excuse the misunderstanding. .
