Somali literature classes

Post by Advocatar »

I think somali classes exclusively for improving our limited vocabulary should be taught by our elders or someone capable from the community. Wallahi i would be one of the first ones to register, I would love to understand somali gabays, write my own gabay, etc.

why do you guys think?

I agree Advocator, a Somali literature class would really be beneficial. I would sign up. I like shirib's but I don't understand them without someone explaining it to me.

p.s maay maay should be offered too

Your not maay so I'm sure you wouldn't understand it unless u grew up around it on the other hand I'm maay so I wanna learn it. I can understand it but my speech is mediocre.

My cousins in Somalia don't know 2 cents of maha tiri, they speak completely in maay.

Maay is Somali, just a different dialect. Maha tiri is the more spoken dialect so it should be the one thought primarily, but maay should alsobe offerred, to those who wanna learn it.

I mean almost 30% of the country speaks maay as a primary language so it should be offered, and not completely neglected.
