The only excuse for mowleid that I have ever heard was that the Prophet (SAW) used to fast on his birthday and they say that, that is a form of celebrations.

Never been to one but I hear they spend a lot of time explaining why its halaal.

Voltage, what exactly is bidca, I know it means innovation but can u explain more.

Mowliid is absolutely xaaraam and there is no evidence in the Qur'aan or Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to refute otherwise.

All those acts are xalaal but the intention behind them is to celebrate the Prophet's (SAW) birthday which makes it xaaraam, because deeds are only by intention and every man will get what he intended (as the famous hadiith goes related by Cumar Ibn Al-Khatab) "Inamaa acmaalu bil niyaat"

Muhammad SAW himself said: "Do not exaggerate about me as the Christians did about the son of Maryam, I am only a slave so say "The Slave of Allah and His Messenger"" (Related by Bukhari)

Oh thank you brother. So what makes it haraam is not the acts but the intention of celebrating the Prophet (SAW) birthday.

exactly

What some people confuse the Mowliid with is that the Prophet (SAW) made his birthday a day of worship, which is different than celebration. He was asked about fasting on Mondays, and he said: "That is the day on which i was born and the day on which i was entrusted with the Message or when i was first given Revelation" (Related by Muslim, Al-Nisaa'i and Abu Dawood)

While the intention behind the Mowliid might be noble, it is nevertheless a grave sin and arguably borders (if not completely falls into) Shirk, as we are praising the Prophet beyond any Prophet's due observance. If this proves love to Rasuulullah (SAW) then Abu Bakr (RA), Cumar (RA), Cuthmaan (RA), Cali (RA), the Saxaaba (RA), Imam Abu Hanifa (RXA), Imam Malik (RXA), Imam Shaafici (RXA), Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal (RXA), the Salafs, the Taabiciin etc. would have loved him more and adhered to this practice however it developed centuries after Rasuulullah's (SAW) death.

The celebration of the Mowliid is a clear and definite addition to what he brought and all the scholars agree. He said in an authentic hadith: "The best of speech is the Book of Allah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The most evil things are those which are newly invented (in religion) and every innovation is going astray" (Reported by Muslim and Al-Nisaa'i)
