The true Somali language is the Maay language. The language the other Somalis call Somali langauge actually branched from Maay.

Linguistics, and anthropologists agree on this but try convincing maha tiri speakers of this.

shrib, i ask my mother to speak every dialect in front of me, reer waqooyi, mudug, xamar, ect
loool, i asked her to speak may may and she spoke it! loool and shes reer waqooyi and her voice was sounding just like dude in the video....

I understood very few words but am pretty sure if my accent wasnt as heavy as it is i would have had a better time understanding it. For me i cant even understand someone from Burco sometimes let alone May May.LOL
