Dude my mouth dropped wallahi, I don't know about you in Canada but Negro is too 60's and earlier to be used here, that is enough to publicly brand you a racist!!
It already shows what I suspect, Barack Obama is redeeming white America and their guilt is already lessening!

Negro is a pejorative... it may be offensive to Somebody like obama but an 80 year old african american who was called negro as a kid and as a man may not really care.......
Plus look who wrote the article....David Ehrenstein... ACHEEEW.

Re: Obama the 'Magic Negro' (L.A Times)
I watched the classic movie "Guess who is Coming" by Pottier. What a good movie.
John Mccain for president, saxib. The Bush doctrine is here to stay as a pretext of longing the Iraq occupation until America makes sure its extension of the Monroe Doctrine to the Middle East sets in, which means that the control and supply route for the Middle East oil is solidified to the extent of deterring China and Russia from ever coveting it. The Arabs are weak, divided, and deprived of their rights to freely dispose of their resources.

Unclebin I have lived here all my life, I see it everyday. I am not saying Obama or any black person feels anything when the word "Negro" is spoken but the fact that the American media now sees free use of the term shows the cultural and psychological shift in America. It isn't so much as offensive to anyone as being better left unsaid. You did not say it not because of anything but of the fact you just don't say it!!

i think a lot of niccaz are threatened by barack because at the end of the day he's a black man that never had to rely on his blackness to get to where he is.
