These two characters need to be replaced as the heads of the Asmara Group. They bring nothing to the table since they lack tribal/military support among their clans. The two bring very little into the Resistance and are mainly symbolic figure yet these two are supposed to be power brokers.

Do you agree or disagree ?

What about Hussien Aidiid and Awesys Daahir? Is it because they are Habar Gedir, they have a lot of support?

Sh. Shariif is a genuine leader. He has never taken part in any clan related violence, he holds a PHD in Islamic Fiqh from the University of Khartoum, he is a pious man. He will always have my support, regardless of cheap propaganda orchestrated by anti-UIC elements.

Cawar ... well said brother. Xasan daahir Ibliis is an international terrorist.

I don't know much about Sharif Xasan but Sharif Sheikh Ahmed is a true Somali nationalist and in my view, he is the legitimate and true president of Somalia. As Koronto pointed out, this is a man who crosses clan boundaries and politics. He is the only one that can unite Somalia. Selecting a leader because of clan affliation and support is what caused Somalia to disintegrate into small fiefdoms.

Sharif Sheik Ahmed doesn't bring any muscle to the table. He may have a more acceptable/sellable image than the rest of his cohorts but when it comes to the currency of Somali politics: military muscle/economic power, he is in short supply.

If I was going to support a powerless figure, I would throw my lot with Abdi Ismacil Samatar or his brother for President.

Since when does Nur Adde has ''power'' or any of those characters within the puppet regime?

Even M.dheere has no power whatsover, if the more then the 30.000s Ethiopian soldiers leave, he would be kicked out.

What military muscle/economic power do those within the puppet regime have? Ethiopan army and Washington money?


Don't forget, the ICU are the only real power in Somalia, they are just facing an alliance of domestic and foreign actors. But when it comes to them vs warlords, we already know the outcome.
