Somalia: Dozens arrested in search operations

(SomaliNet) Dozens of people mostly youth have been arrested on Thursday by the Ethiopian forces in the Somalia capital Mogadishu in connection with the militant groups waging the war in the country.

According to the witnesses, the people were arrested in early raid by the Ethiopian forces on Yaqshid district, one of the hotbed areas in north of the capital.

"The Ethiopian soldiers cut off all roads in and out of the district and then started door-to-door search operations. They particular targeted specific houses in the area and arrested many people suspected for the attacks in the city," said Hashi Mohamed, a local resident.

During the operation, the Ethiopians also searched all the public and private vehicles to find any suspected Islamists.

After the operation, the Ethiopian soldiers went back to their base as roads were reopened.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of Boondheere district, north of the capital Abdulahi Hersi Wardhere known as 'Istikin' said the security forces captured three militants armed with pistols.

Mr. Hersi told reporters the arrested men wanted to carry out an assassination in the district but the government forces prevented them.

"These men were part of the people who are behind the killing on the government officials," said Hersi.

The Islamic resistance groups in Somalia wage nearly daily attacks on the allied forces of Somalia and Ethiopia as they respond with heavy artilleries killing many and wounding innocents.

^^^ I think you are the one who is brainwashed here. Ethiopian has more Muslims than the whole of Somalia don't know if you know that or not.

It was Somalians killing Somalian in Somalia for the last 16 years. It was My Somalians brothers who killed My uncle in Mogadishu in 91 and chase my whole family and thousands of other Somalian out of their own homes. It was Somalians who destroyed their Government iyo their Somalinimo iyo their Deen.

It is Somalians who are trying to bring back Dowladnimo iyo Peace to the whole of Somalia today and it is Somalians who are continuing to fight them and continuing to place bombs all over the focking Country which is killing Women and Children. But do they Care? They call it a Islamic Cause but tell me where in the holy Quran that justifies these killings?
