Does anyone have any suggestions?

I got a sore throat, and it's getting worse by the minute, my voice is starting to change, and I can't seem to be able to swallow anything. :(
I have tried gargling with warm salt water, but didn't help much. Is there anything I should be doing other then drinking lots of fluids and plenty of rest? any advice? And no I rather not see a doctor.

It may be acid reflux, avoid eating before going to sleep or drinking tea.

Nabz:
U might be coming down with Strep Throat, a nasty infection. See a doc immediately since it is very contagious
Are you having any productive coughs ? Or is it a dry cough ?

Naaima, interesting, never head of that practice.
Kramer, thanks, though I can't eat anything solid.
Leila, I hear you, my head feels like it's going to explode :(
Abdi, you are scaring me, damn, just a dry cough here and there, which one is more nastier the productive or the dry?
I tried Cepacol, didn't really make any difference though, haven't tried honey but I will, thanks.

Nabz:
A dry cough is never good because it indicates its something other than a viral cough (produces phelgm).
I would suggest seeing a doctor.

Check this out. You may have strep throat:
http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/stre ... c-overview
The doctor is going to prescribe Amoxyclin 500mgs or Zymethrix (5 day dosage).

If you've a cough, I doubt its a strep throat. Could be a sinus infection or just a sore throat from cold. Try Cold-Eze, it works for me every time. Or if you have ginger, make a tangawizi.
