My take:

Siyaad - Power hungry & ruthless but at heart a nationalist.

Caydiid - Power hungry & less ruthless but at heart a nationalist.

AY - Power hungry & ruthless & not nationalist.

Siyad built alot of reputation and credit but then he destroyed it at the end. He is like, if ain't a president then Somalia goes to hell with me. but still he was a nationalist, and he made the most impact on Somali politics, but let it be known the guys was ruthless at the end of his regime.

Aideed short term, was historic. He is viewed as a hero, he was a nationalist. He defeated Siyad barre, He defeated Abdullahi Yusuf, He defeated Shati-gaduud, He defeated Ali-mahdi, He defeated US-UN coalition, He even want as far as Gedo and whoop some Ethiopian ass and as far as Galkacyo. He made history--and he defeated everyone.

Abdullahi yusuf -the only credit he has is that, he wanted to be president for 80yrs and he finally become --but the guy is a wimp, a traitor and he doesn't have the same respect as Aideed or Siyad, may be in Puntland -but not nationaly.
