The Perfect Solution to End Somalia's Problems

The problem with Somalia is that there is foreign interference which never allows nature to play its part. In war, there are victors and vanquished.

The weaker factions are given boost by foreign backers instead of being crushed and forced to compromise with the stronger faction. In Somalia, the international community has never allowed for the victors to emerge and have overwhelming victory over its enemies. Too often, the weaker faction is bolstered by foreigners to prolong the conflict instead of allowing nature to take its course.

The UN/EU/US should create an environment that prevents foreign nations from supplying Somali factions with money or weaponry or diplomatic cover.

Let all these factions fight it out and I believe one will come out on top. Let that faction rule over the nation.

The disaster in Somalia is that no victor was ever allowed to finish off its victory.

May the toughest faction win so that we can go back to a peaceful SOmalia !

What was left of Somalia has been played by other neighboring African nations ex. Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, DJ, Yemen. Some wanted peace others saw the hostile neighbor as a security threat. ICU was Somalias final blow, post 911 a regime headed by fanatics would only lead to chaos. Clans are powerless without the backing of "States" that have created a buffer for several leaders within Somalia.

Balkanization is our final alternative, if the South continues in there turmoil these "States" will seperate and a South and North Korea situation may occur.

Those are Bantustans are part and parcel of Somalia. With the right philosophy and power, the victor would consolidate them.

If you want the development of powerfull self sufficient and stable african countries you have to let them make war on thier nieghbours, you have to let more realistic states to form,
instead of those funny squigly lines drawn on a map by some white guy 100 years ago.

There was a study made(i am looking for it)

that proposes that in the senario above,

1. Education will have been improved and the pace set by the colonialists maintained
2. Medical science will have been seen as important to the armies at war and field hospitals experience eventually trickle down to civilians in peacetime.
3.roads , railways will have been maintained and expanded as they are important for war.

If there was no UN interference in 1992, the Somali civil war would have concluded no later than summer of 1993.

Before the UN had arrived, the defeated supporters of the Barre regime accepted that their days of power were over after their last ditch attempt to recapture Mogadishu which was helped out by the Kenyan government which provided food, aid, and arms for Barre's Armies.

With the UN interference, the hopes of the Siyaadists were once again brought back to life. They manipulated the UN to remove the one obstacle to their return to power, General Caydid & the SNA.
