"Fierce fighting has broken out between rival clans along the Somalia-Ethiopia border, especially in Hiiraan Region. However, the magnitude of damages resulting from the clashes, is not yet known . The fighting caused local residents to flee the area.

The fighting began after the rival clans quarrelled over borehole. However, reports from Hiiraan Region say efforts are under way to calm down the tensions.

Clan in Hiiraan Region have on several occasions in the past fought over water causing deaths and injuries.

Its not funny at all. Thats fighting for Survival. Water is the most precious thing human needs and Its no surprise if they fight over. It would have been disaster if it was something petty like Qamadi , mushaali etc

The Qamadi war was the work of of riyaale, who played his cards right and threw a bone of contention between the Garxajis brothers. They butchered each other as he watched with huge grin. The guy is crazy

This has nothing to be with been backward. These are pastoral armed clashes which all Somali clans experience, in which clans push each other from regions. This time it is between Udejeen and Xawaadle. It has been going on since 2005, in which Xawaadle tried to expand towards Feerfeer region and well into Somali lands in Ethiopia. Exactly at this time , in 22 Feb 2007, Xawaadle were pushed back well into Beledweyn zone after they tried to takeover deeganada Baar Magoog iyo Laba Baar . The 2008 campaign has started I guess lol.

Why would they get any help? They are content with their own strenght.

On paper and reality are two different things, and reality is what counts. May 2007 reality was clear to see when all the Xawaadle officials and traditional leaders said: ONLF, ICU etc was fighting on their side lool. When the Ethiopians enquired it and found out that it was just tribal conflict, they said: Ceyr were on their side lool.

We'll see how they fare in this new campaign.

Qaniisyahow maxaad Garxajis ka soo qaadeysaa? Garxajis had an internal problem that they needed to sort out, so they did and got on with their lives. HY and Eidagalle have been having friction up until then and needed to blow off some steam. The Qamadi was an excuse, we are not proud of it, but we are united now and waiting to jump on your faqashite arse.
