Amazing.

I had the privilage of visting a huge thousands upon thousands camp of Albanians in New Jersey when they were received in America. I remember the look on some of their faces after going through the horror and trauma of the Serbian genocide against them. They seem very removed from Islamic practices but it seems to be 99% based on ignorance as they saw us praying and were very curious and awstruck and I remember their elders in the camp telling everyone to pray mashallah.

However its comical and with all due respect pretty stupid to compare Yugosalvia to Somalia. For one the Western Powers see the breakup of Yugoslavia as symbolic of officially dissentegrating the USSR and its affiliates so they have a vested interest to recognize them instead of a poor Somalia seccessionist who emails his senator and tells Faarax Abdi the webmaster of his idaacad to right that the US is 'seriously considering independence' for Somailand, lol...

Then You have people with totally different ethicities, language, Religion, culture and that union continuing would mean back to a vicious war which makes Somalia look like childs play which would then cause a huge and expensive UN peacekeeping force. The Somali mess is for all Somalis marka lets stop humiliating ourselves like Riyaale coming to DC in a rental car and sort out our problems and build our country, lol.

Kosovo was part of the Ottoman empire, so they have basis for independence. Somaliland didn't exist before the colonial times

Good for Kosovars. They deserve it.

It will pave the way for Somaliland's recognition as well. Within this year hopefully Somaliland will also join the international community.

well one, we do share those commonalities and the arabs have all those countries because of colonization of the Ottoman Empire lands

two, one or two clan families really support succession, there has to be a referendum by the whole Somalia, not just British Somaliland area, and also a Somalia Government has to formally recognize it for the world to recognize it

hindsight is 20/20, but most of these kids...especially in London have blindly run into this Somaliland ideology because thats all they been taught, they never seen a united Somalia and a united Somalia sounds so foreign b/c it was so long ago

so meh, i dont think recognition will ever happen, but i aint gonna care if it does

yawle is kinda right...a lot of Awdal area was controlled by the Turks until the British came from Egypt...

I'm for Somaliland's independence, but my point is without the faqash bombing of civilians in Hargeisa and Burco, Somalilanders would have less reasons to strive for independence, Somaliland would still be part of Somalia without Siyad Bare. I'd rather Somaliland stay with Somalia, but after what happened to them, I don't blame them for leaving the phoking savage southern Zoo-malis

"yawle is kinda right...a lot of Awdal area was controlled by the Turks until the British came from Egypt..."

It is not just Awdal. It was from Waqdariya in Sanaag to Zaylac in Awdal.

Zaylac was the capital from 13 Century to 16 Century. And then it was moved to Berbera where the Ottoman empire built the greatest buildings including the still in use old Ottoman Market and Mosque. They also built the accient Roman Technolgy water-system which naturally brings water from the highlands of Sheekh to Berbera's water reservior.
