Ethiopian Tranditional Dances
I like it. I think it's much better than our Niiko for example.
Watch the two guys in this video - (my shoulders hurt just looking at them, but fascinating nevertheless, the music too)

Re: Ethiopian Tranditional Dances
all they are doing is shaking their shoulders, Im sorry but that shid is gay,
but you know who has the gayest, I'd say it's the oromo....all they do is the female knees down and shake hair sideways while the male stand over her and guides the hair with his hand for like 30 minutes, so boring.
I have fun watching somali dances (when performed correctly) not some forced xaliimos and farah who arent enjoying the shid!

Skippa, I LOVED the first video! Such high energy, what a fantastic dancers! I don't think I had ever seen that brand of Ethio dance before. I wonder if there are any Gurage dancers where you can actually go see them, anywhere in North America... That would be cool.
Advo, hater! did you even watch the whole video, the shoulder thing gets very intricate. Watch the videos posted by Skippa and learn a move or two if nothing else LOL

Demure,
I've heard of an ethiopian troupe of young girls called Mesgana Dancers or something and they do tour, in fact they may have been in the US last year...they were in Toronto a couple of years ago but I have not seen them. There's also another one from South Africa called Umoja...I first saw them two years ago and I'm going again this Saturday. The show's honestly one of the best (if not the best) I've seen. They're in Toronto until March 2nd and then I think they're heading down south to the U.S
