Who is the Mahdi???

"At the end of the time of my Ummah (community of believers), the Mahdi will appear. Allah will grant him rain, the earth will bring forth its fruits, he will give a lot of money, cattle will increase and the Muslim Ummah will become great. He will rule for seven or eight years" (At-Tirmidhi). This was reported by Abu Sa`eed Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him.


Is it haraam to claim to be the mahdi?

Can the mahdi be anyone of us?

How does the Mahdi know he's the mahdi?

yes there are:-

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri states that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon, said: "The Mahdi is of my lineage, with a high forehead and a long, thin, curved nose. He will fill the earth with fairness and justice as it was filled with oppression and injustice, and he will rule for seven years."

Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, says: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Mahdi is one of us and a member of my family. Allah will guide him in a single night." (Reported by Ahmad)

You know the world's changed soo much since the time of the Prophet and with soo much intermarrying going on anyone of you can be of Prophets lineage. There are people in Turkey,Pakistan,Sudan,Algeria,Somalia who claim to be part of the Quraish so you can never know . Nowdays the Saudi's you see are mostly what you call Hajji's(decendents of people who settled down in Saudi Arabia after going there for hajj).

I went to a sermon at mosque last year and the sheikh said the mahdi will come from a region, currently known as uzbekstan, but Allah knows best.

The thing is brother alot of the Hadeeths about the Mahdi are weak so its not sure but all that we can believe is the knowledge that he will come on the last days before judgement and will fight along side Prophet Ciisa.

This I am not sure about all we know is mahdi comes uring a time where Muslims will be oppressed and great injustice's will be done apon them which will be on the last days before judgement.

some scholars say that the mahdi is already born, and that we are in the time of the mahdi's rise.

the mahdi could be anyone, that has the name muhammed, his fathers name is abdullah and mothers name amina.

he could be a somali, arab, chinise, indian, ect. but he must be the decended of the prophet muhammed s.a.w's from his daughters children, fatima.
