Tina Turner Sends Condolences to Somali President
Female Soul Legend Sends Condolences to Somali President
NASHVILLE. World famous Queen of Soul and legendary songbird, Tina Turner, sent her heartfelt condolences to Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf after reading of the incident in which the 80 year old senior was slapped by Ethiopian General Gabre.
"I am very upset to hear of the abuse of an ailing senior citizen. Too often, the weak, the vulnerable and the old are abused. For far too long, I was a victim of physical and mental abuse by my former husband, Ike Turner. I hope that President Yusuf stands up against this sort of abuse, not only for himself but for the millions who are abused, " said Ms. Tina Turner.
The slap which was heard all across the globe occurred last week at Yusuf's Presidential Palace. Sources with in the administration reported that the Ethiopian General in charge of the Ethiopian Occupation Force, General Gabre became extremely irate during a conference call between the Somali and Ethiopian Cabinet. The General who was making a speech was cut off by President Yusuf who complained of the poor performance of the General in combating Somali rebels. General Gabre suddenly slapped rose up and slapped the ailing Yusuf. An unnamed Minister at the magazine told FARAX Magazine:
"The President was seated and was critiquing the performance of General Gabre when the General leaned over and slapped the President. Gabre swung back and forth, right to left slapping the President twice. President Yusuf fell off his chair to the ground drooling and sweating. His bodyguards moved to help him up when General Gabre pulled a revolver on them. It was shocking to see the President laying there on the ground. The meeting was quickly dismissed as General Gabre returned the revolver into his holster and stormed out of the room. Presidential spokesperson Hubsireed ran to help the President who was cursing, "Tool beel, tool beel" in a whimpering voice."
The weak Transitional Federal Government (TFG) has been trying to impose its authority over the restive Somali capital, Mogadishu, since December 2006 when it rolled into town on Ethiopian tanks. The TFG backed by Ethiopia has been locked in a brutal insurgency with fighters of the Alliance for the ReLiberation of Somalia (ARS) that has resulted in some of the heaviest fighting since the ouster of former Somali strongman, Mohamed Barre in 1991.

always. innocent people getting caught in between two groups fighting for power, land and greed is sad.
I don't remember who said this 'when two elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers' but it was on the money.

This poor satire coming from a cab driver whose only life goal is finding a woman who would take him.
