(No qabiliste), just feel that the rest of Somalia can follow this great example.

The success is great, but its not unique to Somaliland.

It was only in 1991 that the people of Waqoyi cemented their plan to halt any political ambitions with the rest of Somalia and continue with their lives on a separate basis. It was seven years later that the people in Bari began withdrawing militias from southern Somalia as well as any plans of return; this was pushed even further during the past week when they sought full autonomy and a separation from federal Somalia. This same model was pursued later on by Hiiraan inhabitants. Later came modern Jubbaland, Maakhir, Galmudug, Southwestern Somali State, and now even Darwiishland.

So, I'd conclude that Somaliland's "model" is not being ignored by other Somalis, and that Somaliland's ambition and self-determination is not a unique condition, its a very obvious consensus that sometimes people move on when hope is lost in the bigger picture; you can't always stall and wait until someone saves you.

Once again, I wish them success with their development.

My two shillings.

Population is not too much, no way near hargeisa and burco, but probably after those two. The town is pretty much untoched during the war and there are a lot of buildings left by the russians. The main town is quite a walk from the sea and we went on a friday, which is when the whole town goes up to swim.
