Wow, this is what you call a kleptrocracy:
: government by those who seek chiefly status and personal gain at the expense of the governed;

AW,
Can you explain to me why Bakaaraha market is targeted constantly while the second largest market in Somalia (Suuq Bacaad) is safe?
There must be disunity within HG, because how come the market gets intimidated by mooryan in service of the puppet regime.

Most of the TFG army is abgaal. It makes sense they defend their market whilst looting the Bakaaraha. Common sense 101

AW,
Well even the ones who collaborate should at the end think of the general interest of the group.

Somaliweyn,
When they set up isbaaro, robbed, harassed and even sold innocent Muslim Quran teachers from their own "group" were they thinking about the "general interest of the group" then? Why would they do an about face now?

Somaliweyn,
The majority of the Ethiopians are in K. Muqdisho and Afbiijo knows that Bakaraha is where the $$ is at. He some how believes by bankrupting what he believes is a HG market that the war will end.
But I doubt it will work at all. He is simply drawing more fire & is increasing support to the resistance.
The biggest mistake you can do is turn the business community against you & all those civilians who depend on that market.
Btw, my family owned several large tracts of Suuqa bacad before the Civil war.

Murax,
Saxiib, you would be surprised. Merchants tend not to be revolutionaries unless directly their livelihoods are directly threatened.
One of my adeers, an outcast, still had his MSB photo up in his office and avoided the USC party up until the last minute when he saw that power had switched hands & he became a big fan of the USC to save his own skin. He was a shrewd businessman who never believed in politics and trade could mix.

Murax,
Its one of those dumb African Laws: You have to have the Pic of the President in any store or business.
One thing I do give credit to MSB for was not putting his pic on the currency unlike the neighboring nations.
