there are no rivers in the North, so its a rarity to get malaria

Rivers stream in Calmadow Forest, but people don't live there.

The north does have Malaria cases. There was a study done in the late 1990s. You can read the details of the study prepared by Somaliland Ministry of Health. It points out the source of the desease and details what needs to be done.
