If polygammy is abandoned as happening in the west, there will be lots of single sisters left hanging and frustrated Faraxs. This is a threat to our society.

Hmm Interesting One woman could be headache at times, imagine having four. Ill be honest with you I could marry 10 submissive village females without a brain, but they would not satisfy my intellect I like strong minded females the only place they got be submissive is in the bedroom and one wife is more then enough in my book.

Somali men marrying outside the community are negligible.

Marrying outside the community is mainly a Xalimo/adoon thing.

The Halimos are only marrying the addoons because there are so few Somali men like you said, isnt that a solution in itself lool .....and the dog thing is...... because we dont breed them like we breed sheep. there are only so many sheep because we desire to consume them, and therefore farm them intensively.

i agree with you in a way but there is a problem; somali men cant even look after one, let alone two or three. so you saying let them marry as many as they can. its all about breeding. nothing to do with hapiness or better quality of life hmmm thats worrying you see. no women put herself in that situation and the ones that are in this situation. didnt have clue what they getting themselves into. i say to all somali women. respect your religion, yourself, your brothers. BUT dont let a faarax give you a headache. do what you think is right/halaal and make you a better n happeir person. dont let them use religion when it suits them. men are ONLY allowed to mary more than one (infact any) if. and only if they can look after them, financailly, emotionally, religous wise and culturly. so i wouldnt for a min adivice a somali women to marry a man she well and truly knows he cant even look after himself. allah is the all giver and taker. why put yourselves in someone else's hand. when you know you can do much better, be richer, stronger and more educated and be respected living with your parents, instead some sarkhaan faarax please i probably sound like im full of hate. but let me tell you. when i use work as a translator i swear i cry when i see the amount of somali women in the que, with children and tons of papers in their hands. with so much to deal with, interms of rent, billings and so on. and NO man insight. it hurts to know these women are alone and need help. asap from their husbands. but there is no help coming for them except me and her advisor which she sees us once a week. this is the jobs that men suppose to do; subhaanalaah. walahi im single hard working and educated somali girl and im telling im that put off from somali men. for good. (allah knows best though). i wish i never had to volunteer. i wouldnt see that. i wouldnt have so much anger for somali men. but hey thats life. allah was teaching me something i think. and believe me. i learned it.
