The Olympic events have shed an bright light upon the people of Tibet and the problems they're facing.
Their government doesn't voice their opinions so they have decided to take matters into their own hands, demonstrating during the march of the Olympic tourch across the world, London 2 days ago, Paris yesterday and according to officials San Fransisco will be next.
The last day or two there' has been an enormous media coverage about the plight of the people of Tibet.
Sinds the Olympic torch will also pass through the Western Galbeed region, would this not be the perfect oppertunity for us to get some media coverage portraying to the world the plight of the Somali people in that region and the crimes commited against them?

Re: Olympic torch
lol, there are no people from Somalia participating in this event so why should they go passed Hargeisa.
It will do a little marathon in Dar Es Salaam and will proceed towards Kenya and Ethiopia (Western Galbeed)
Here's the map, just click 'Play'
http://torchrelay.beijing2008.cn/en/journey/map/
As you see, it will then go via northern somalia but it will probably board an Plane in Addis Ababa therefore avoiding any contact with us.

Re: Olympic torch
I was listening to PRI's "The World" and they was in France. Interviewed a Chinese lady holding up the China flag and she blatently said "Dont worry, Tibet is part of China and will always be part of China" or something like that.

Re: Olympic torch
China is holding the olympics and that provides a perfect opportunity for the people of Tibet to voice their frustration. As for us and our plight well THE WORLD doesnt care about third world that is finishing itself off plus SOMALIA is not holding the olymics
But we still need to find another way to bring the media attention to what is happening!
