No. That theory shouldn't be taught.

Maya. There's nothing scientific or concrete about that half-baked theory, much of it is already common sense e.g. "Living things adapt to their environment...."

So, you want to create confusion in a society already plagued by ignorance? Btw, much of evolution conflicts with religion i.e. the whole "We evolved from apes and not from Adam & Eve" is in direct conflict with the teachings of Islam.

koronto

It's not from apes, but from omeoba/bacteria which is even more ridiculous. But I don't think teaching it is necessarily bad, it's after all just a theory. And so long as the teachers communicates that to the students then it's shouldn't be a problem.

It should be looked at no different then teaching other religions, teach it for knowledge sake not to believe in it.

Ok Arabman and Koronto,

I am not saying that Abuna Adam came from monkeys..but can you tell me why is that when Allah SWT told the Malaeka that he would make on earth a Khalifa..and they responed..
Are you gonna make a khalifa who will spill blood in it and would kill..rough intreperetation..

How did the Angels know what humans could be doing?? Allah told them is an overr simplistic answer..but there is a possibilty (in this Ayah) that humans evolved from early stages where they had no brains or brains equal to those of the animals..???

I find it very interesting the Quranic verse that reads:

" Was there not a time when man was a thing not worth mentioning."

I feel that Islam does believe in some form of evolution but not the conventional Darwinian idea that says Men came from Monkeys(apes to be specific)

Maybe the process of creation...Nabi Adam was made from dust...everything is made with water

man was created from a clot...ect...

The actual reason is known only to Allah, but majority of scholars believe that the angels reference to "Are you going to place on earth ANOTHER to cause misfchief...." was because humans weren't the first creation of Allah, there were a nation of Jinns who were created before Adam and placed on an island, but who transgressed and eventually had to be destroyed, here is the story of the creation of Nabi Adam (as) and everything I've written:
