I would change my avatar to his photo, but I like the Asian girl a lot more.
About the cleric uprising in Puntland, they're setting up their militia right now. And if you remember the Islamic Courts uprising in Xamar, it started out with much less resources and men and quickly gained momentum in both of those areas. My prediction is that Cadde won't make it to the next election. The people are tired of it.
One reason they're setting up the militia is because the locals got together in Garowe, from across Puntland, and decided that they'd fight if drilling began in their regions. This will be step one in bringing change and it will happen by summer and no sooner than fall. One reason that drilling is bad is because it brings Ethiopian "security" to Puntland and makes their grasp on Somalia more permanent, and another reason is because Puntland's corrupt regime will pocket 90% of the money and they will marginalize the locals in every way and compromise their livelihood.

I agree but the clerics having their own militia would mean two administrations. They will eventually butheads and all we could do is wait for the outcome.
On a side note, Shiekh Abdulqadir also burned the printing equipments and warned the owners to seize their illegal profits.
Sheikh Abdulkadir Nur Farah, one of the most influential clerics in Puntland, offered journalists details of the process by which local clerics successfully burned counterfeit cash and some of the illegal money-printing equipment.
The Sheikh thanked clerics based in Bossaso who played a monumental role helping burn the equipment and the counterfeit Shillings. He also expressed his gratitude to the owners of the printing equipment for implementing the Islamic clerics' decision to immediately stop the illegal printing of counterfeit Shilling.
"The learned [Islamic] scholars informed the [printing press] owners that it is both illegal and a sin under Islam to continue the practice, which leads to the robbery of people's hard-earned wealth," Sheikh Abdulkadir said.

This is not the old Abdullahi Yusuf vs. Jama Ali Jama days. The militia in Puntland are mostly unpaid workers and have been very rebellious towards the administration. The clerics have everything in their court and a takeover would be smooth.
