walahi ignorance is bliss for some.. they would rather be lied to then find out about something that could potentially hurt them or cause them grief..even if the that very thing is happening to them without their knowledge.
someone i am very close to subscribes to the school of thought of white lies saves lives.lol... she goes "would u rather know when u gonna die?", implying that there's a blessing in such ignorance. lol.
it all goes back to what u don't know won't hurt u.
damn..

If I was going to die...I wouldnt wanna know. Id rather live my day and not dwell in what will be.
I kinda agree with your friend that white lies do sometimes save lives. I mean just walking up to the street to someone you think is feeling and saying "wow you look very nice" it might not be true..but for the brief moment, they will have this light in their eyes that would otherwise not be there.
If I know the truth will really hurt someone and its not even a big deal....Id rather not even say it.....its not worth it....
Like my ex....I hated his cooking...but would I ever tell him that? no...Id rather smile n say thanx for being sweet......lol

fair enough...
but how long can u tolerate lies..if u somehow found out you are being lied to(to spare u of any grievances that may entail otherwise). would u continue to receive such disingenuous regard from that person?
if one makes a habit of lying, regardless of its minuscule magnitude..it becomes easier for them to tell a lie of greater caliber.

I dont think it has to be a habit and I think theres obviously limits to it. But for the most part, little lies dont hurt anyone and shouldnt hurt anyone. I guess your thinking in the broader term that the person may lie to their spouse about something grand and justify to themselves that they were trying to keep them from hurt....obviously thats wrong.
You have to use common sense in these things....theres things you can fib about...and then theres t hings that u dont. In the end, lies will come back to at you...and if it was in honest good intention then that person will understand, if it to deceive and manipulate...then they will too will have their recourse....
