Okay, I didn't say that, honest, I am quoting from a forum I just finished reading. A man was released after 27 years of his life went down the drain being in jail. He is exonerated by DNA testing and was released from Dallas, Texas of USA.
This forum linked below has some funny exchanges between Americans and A European

Willy Koenen says:
Shame on you AMERICA !
I hate your "justice"; I hate your system of punishments which sends innocents in jail!
You are retrograde, your laws are retrograde, you are only interests by money and petrol.
It would be time that America cleans its system and their politician !
I live in Belgium and I am very happy not to live in your country of savages !

Great!!! Then stay in Belgium and keep your nose out of our business! How did you stumble upon this page anyways? Searching for death, destruction, and wrongful convictions?
This is a Dallas Blog, and I'd think you'd have better things to read from your own countries news. If not, then politely observe and shut your pie hole. Being a part of the international community doesn't give you the full right to call my country a country of savages.
Good Day Sir,

Hey Mith, have you read the 1st amendment lately. You talk like an American but you seem oblivious to our constitution. I'm sure that your contention is that Koenen is not an American, but my contention is that I am, and I want to hear what he says. Besides, the US does not own the internet. So go to wherever it is in Parker county that you live and hold meeting then you can Censor whomever you want.

Willy Koenen says:
Open your eyes! A country which still condemns to the capital punishment is a retrograde country. You helped us in 1945 to release us from the yoke Nazi. But now, you are the terrorists. Where you go, you behave like dogs with your prisoners. You are not animals, you are monsters. And here, in Europe, we hate you.

Dr.K: And as an American you have that full right. My point is that, another country is bashing my country in what looks like a hit and run posting.
My taxes as well as yours are going to fund the activities of Texas. While I do contend that I find it completely disturbing at the number of wrongly convicted over the years, my main point is, how, why, and for what purpose would someone such as Koenen come across such an article unless he has previous ties to this area, or is searching for such an article directly. Posting criticism in not a crime I admit, nor is it wrong. Yet those who post such criticism should at least stand on their own merit. I don't claim to own the internet or have invented it, yet your defense strikes me as one who simply takes up the free speech argument as a complete cop out to say absolutely anything you want (Or for that matter to give someone of the international community, who is not a US citizen the liberty to take pot shots at our country without some sort of reprisal. Granted you are (I would hope) an American and there are those who died to give that right to you. Yet whenever others come and step on our flag, or criticize our nation, I would hope that all Americans would want to step to their countries defense. If not then what society do we live in if we are not proud to live in this country?
PS: By the Way I don't live in Parker County, why don't you observe yourself a little before making generalizations about others.
Good Day Sir,

Uh Huh, You go on and continue to hate us there. Call us terrorists if you must, monsters if you will. Funny enough Dr. K would give you all of our rights and freedoms to do with them what you will. You certainly do seem grateful of our past help in matters over in Europe as evidenced by your own history lesson. If you have the time to be focusing on other countries then perhaps that's time better devoted to bettering your own. Until then hate us if you must, but I'm still an American and d@mn proud of it.

"Now obviously there had to be something but you sure couldn't figure it our from reading the article. I'd like to know what evidence the jury did hear"
There are other articles that get more into the original trial allegations. The Star-Telegram article here: http://www.star-telegram.com/dallas_new ... 09389.html
In it, it says that Woodard and the deceased had been dating, Woodard came to the woman's house in the early morning hours on the day of her death and neighbors said they heard the couple arguing.
Prosecutors found three witnesses who said they saw the deceased getting into a car with several men at a 7-11 a short time before her death, but those witness statements were apparently not turned over to the defense. Three weeks later, one of those witnesses was arrested for sexual assault and was later killed by a woman he was trying to rape. Another of those witnesses is a registered sex offender who can't be found, according to the article.
On a more general note, I'm surprised by what prosecutors are allowed to get away with and what juries will buy as "evidence".
I was reading about a case the other day, and it essentially boiled down to an eyewitness who, on the night of the murder, couldn't even tell the police the color of the clothes the people he saw running from the scene were let alone offer any kind of description. But somehow, this witness was able to, several months later, positively identify two men as the perpetrators.
I can't believe that kind of obvious B.S. of a witness is allowed on the stand, let alone that a jury of 12 people will believe such a manufactured memory as the truth and vote to convict in such cases.
