European Somalis are much more active in Somali affairs when it comes to politics and the rebuilding process than North American Somalis, why

What did you base that on?

I thought it was the other way around to be honest. I don't know very much about somali politic, and i don't want to, there's too much hatred and qabiil involved.

Maybe the Somaliland kids

From what i seen and the somalis i spoken too.. When it comes to visiting back home, investing in business and politics somalis in Europe are way ahead of Somalis in North America..

Even the new MPs in TFG. i think out of 14, 7 or 8 are from the UK lol

Just compare the Youths from UK to the ones here in my city Toronto...

that doesnt have to be a bad thing though.. I wish the somalis in North America were involved more in a postive light ofcourse..

lol you are comparing the Somali youth population of the UK to that of a city?
Is that even comparable given A) the size & B) the population?
Perhaps you should revist your statments and correct so that the numbers are comparable.

The youths in the UK don't really know anything about Somali Politics, what they say is a direct reflection of what they've heard from either their parents or their relatives. They do not know enough about Somalia in order to form their own opinion, as most of them have been here for a very long time.

From my own experience it is the Somali-landers who are mostly into Somali Politics, mainly perhaps because of them wanting their independence.

I get your point and your right, the population of somalis in the UK is much more and more diverse ofcourse.. But still i think Somalis in Europe are much more active overall than those in North america in Somali issues..

Again, that doesnt have to be bad.

I just wanted to know why Somalis in Europe feel more connected with Somalia than the ones in North America..

Again im not talking about everyone ofcourse..

North American youth are more civilized and have been in the western world longer thent he European somalis, some of the North American somalis are born there, therefore making the European Somalis more active in somali affairs.

Also North American Somalis have to work to make living unlike European Somalis who live on Welfare due to the fact that there's no time limit of being off the system in Europe like in North America

your making it seem as if concerning oneself with the affairs of his/her country is a bad thing..

Why are all you guys taking this the wrong way, when i said more active in Somali affairs, what i mean in is politically, finanicially and aid..

If anything i wish Somalis in North America were more involoved..

There is nothing wrong with being active in your country's affairs as long as is not clan reasons..

It's because they're:
- Closer to Africa, proximity wise, and are thus more likely to go on family trips back home.
- Are less integrated into the society of their host country and, as a result, more interested in their own culture.
