My dad's brother married 3 Afro-American women before he met the first Somali woman in his city. But he came to the states real early and there was not a single Somali woman in sight. The lack of Somali women were a major factor in his decisions to marry outside the race. But the very moment that he got access to Somalis, he married instantly.

Somalis love other races. I've noticed how the Ethiopians, Arabs and Kenyans stick to their people. Somalis are adventurous people. They are diverse people, they want to see other races. We are all over the place you know?

I think Paidmonk got it right. There just arent enough of you in the US to choose from.

Im not somali but I can relate. 90% of the people im surrounded by are white or white hispanics so when I go out its usually a white guy I end up dancing with most of the night. Nothing against my brothas of course. Its just that there are not very many around these parts.

Do you think people intentionally move to areas where there are no Somali people? Maybe some people prefer to date/marry non-Somalis? Like FAH's sister who thinks her own people are beneath her.

Alchemist, speak for yourself. Only guys with low self-esteem would utter such half-hearted comments like these. I have seen a lot of Somali guys making it rain including me. If your weak azz can't tear a ceeb a part, don't lump all of together. I know once a non Somali girl see Somali, there is no going back

Paid Monk..in that case its totally understandable..even here in the U.K when the Somali seamen came in the 50s and 60s they intermarried with the local white and jamaican women...in Liverpool im told there are lots of mixed people around..sadly some of them arent Muslim anymore ..as those seamen went back to live in Somalia and married somali women.

FAH there are brothers and sisters out there who suffer from low self esteem and actually go LOOKING for nonsomalis!! I dont have a problem with those who keep their net wide open and unexpectedly fall in love with nonsomalis...but to go out of your way and look for nonsomalis and only date / hang around them..means thes epeople have serious issues...and no doubt their kids will become more confused than them...even the ones who go for converts are guilty of this..they think converts have better Imaan and are as a result better Muslims..subhanallah i cant stand this nonsense ...the obsession with converts is mind bewildering!

These people have lost their identity and their culture, their religion and their mother tongue ..plus the media also sends out constant messages that people of a certain race are beautiful etc...so little wonder these people are going with gaalo.
