Take these disgraceful pictures down!!

Those aren't "historical" pictures as you put it. All of those photos were taken in and around Benadir region. There's a similar collection for Djibouti. They are pictures of Somali servants and vassals used to portray the country as weak and welcoming to foreigners. Those are postcards, sent to Italy to attract more settlers. In that same collection, there are postcards depicting converted Somali families, Gosha slaves in Barawe, and so forth. In all the photos you presented, they have people posing and trying to look as exotic as possible. Focking disgusting. For example, the boys fighting with the sticks are performing the famous "Abgaal" fighting games that the Italians enjoyed so much.

''In all the photos you presented, they have people posing and trying to look as exotic as possible.''

What a nonsense, so you want us to believe those are not real people, with real clothes, living how they lived in that time?

It depictes Somalis, and how they lived then. Only in the picture of Baidoba and the christian families (bantu origins) can you see socalled servants. All the other, are free men.

Dont come with nonsense, and the pictures are from Somali people as varied as those from Djiboutie, Harar, Ogaden, Benadir etc.

Stop trying to justify those propaganda postcards.

Harar and Ogaden my ass. Those pictures are all from Benadir, Shabelle, Baidoa, and Djibouti. No self-respecting Somali would carry a stick and pose for Italians. The Italians only degraded Somalis in their portrayals. The only people who did honest historic works were the British, at least for the most part.

Those are not ordinary Somalis as you put it.

Here is a Somali mission (read the title)

Somalis saluting the Italian governor

A scantily-clad woman (to attract male Italian settlers)

Somali "warriors" (who the fock were they fighting?)
http://www.postcardman.net/150893.jpg

And there are also many pictures of Italians coming in by sea and their offices:

IT IS PROPAGANDA, NOT HISTORY OR ART.

Italians made those pictures, so ofcourse they will capture those ''things'' they find ''exotic''.

But it does not mean that those people and their way of life is not how it was. The way they dressed, they wore the spears, they played the ''fighting games'' etc.

And it depicts men from Djiboutie, a woman from Harar, some Ogaden women, Juba river etc. So its not in and around Benadir region.

And those pictures of ''warrior'' are the Somali men who were armed. It depicts how they were as nomads.
