Is Barre Hiraale Traitor?

I was reading Wikipedia, and come across this excerpt:
He suffered the loss of Kismayo in September 2006, and further defeat during ICU's takeover of the Juba Valley in October 2006. On October 14, his wife was arrested in Kismayo, along with a number of other women.
He regrouped his forces in Gedo region, and successfully lead the counterattacking TFG forces, who, alongside Ethiopian troops, won successive battles during December 2006, eventually forcing the ICU back to Mogadishu, where, on December 29, the TFG and Ethiopian forces took Mogadishu.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barre_Adan ... Government
He probably was wearing Ethiopian military uniform, and certainly fighting under the command of the Ethiopian invading forces.

He is not a traitor since the ICU's betrayed him and invaded the city he was running. If your Muslim brother attacks under 'Sharia banner, you have the right to call whoever you want. Case in point, when Iraq invaded Kuwait, the whole Islam world backed Kuwait and the Americans to defend Kuwait. Its the same scenario, but in a massive scale

Is there's a fatwa that allows the right to call gaalos?

how did he (more like an alliance) come to power in kismayo?

didn't he attack a peaceful city held by fellow muslims? and did he implement sharia law?
are you saying this to defend AY?

You're mistaken; he fought with the invading Ethiopian forces, therefore, he's one.

Traitor - thats a harsh word to use.
What did Hiraale do that made him a traitor ? Who did he betray ?
The UIC were NOT a government of national unity but a political faction.
Is Hiiraale a traitor ? NO. Because he was not part of any UIC.
As for the UIC going to Kismayo, it was legitimate. After all Barre's secular buddies were kicked out of Xamar and Barre did help the UIC in kicking them out, so why should he a secular warlord still rule a city ?
A true traitor = Sheik Sharif => He betrayed the ARS by going to Nairobi and committing the Alliance to talks with the TFG without the withdrawl of the Ethiopians.

It really does matter if you're a Muslim and fight alongside the Ethiopian invading forces. That's, of course, unless you're a secular Muslim.

AbdiWahab252, doesn't collaborating with the invading Ethiopian forces constitute treason? I sense from you a conflict of interest as your Adeer Qeybdiid did what Hiraale did; collaborate with the invading Ethiopian forces. You can't call Hiraale traitor because you want to shield Adeer Qeybdiid.

If fighting for his people makes Col. Hiiraale a traitor then so are 90% of Mareexaan from Kelinka 5naad to NFD and everything in between who support him wholeheartedly.
