I am purely amazed by the growth.
In 1967:
Jilib had a main street and two short ones at right angles.
Eyl had no more than ten stone buildings, all clustered along the water course. My favorite cave is to the right in the shot of western Eyl.
Baraawe had one main street and a short "industrial" area along the waterfront.

Jamaame is too far south of the Shabelle river. The Jubba and Shabelle meet near Jilib, just a few miles north of it. I can't find the exact spot because frankly, I don't know where it is, but there appears to be a large four-way junction of rivers and other bodies of water just north of Jilib.

Eternauta,
The Shebelle mostly just sinks underground, adding to the water table. The Shebelle joins the Jubba only in exceptionally wet years, in the form of a flood, in the general area of Jilib.
I have heard it happened, once before my time, but in the Sixties. I have never seen a picture and I am not sure what it would be of, except just water everywhere.

What about where the river meets the Indian Ocean?
