The Marexan TAKEOVER.

Post by zackabdul »

We don't believe you, you need more people. :!:

Just playing, but I have a question I want to ask the Marehan intellectuals in this section. I'm talking about the Ali Husein Doqon, Voltage, sadeboi, advo etc...

I was looking at clan maps, and I seen an interesting pattern. For example, the Majerten and Ogaden have many sub clans that have their own regions. If you don't get what I mean, take a look at this picture:

Image

And the same thing goes for the Ogaden.

Now when I look at Marehan demographics, they are bunched up together mostly in groups with various sub clans. For example, (I don't remember where I read it) the Galti invaded Jubbaland but weren't from the same sub clans but from various sub clans such as the Reer Xasan, and I believe like two others(the Reer Ahmed I think).

Now how come there aren't regions in Gedo dominated by one sub clan, I know there are cities but I haven't heard of regions? Maybe it's your social structure? You guys are closer to each other?

I'm hoping you guys could answer this for me. Thanks in advance..

Cool is daji cey waa laga roonyahay.

Zack, to be quite honest Marehaan are not disunited or separatist like your clan or ogaden. Look bah-ogaden of reer-diini, reer-siyaad-hussien, wagerdhac, haber-ciise, hawrarsame, and celi live in cabudwaaq and north of it. Bah-hawiye of reer-diini, haber-yaquub and co live in ballanbale and south/west of that. In gedo you will find baardheere to be a reer-ugaas sharmarke diini, talxe, and other clans living there while in garbaharrey region you will find reer-siyaad diini, reer-hassan, haber-ciise, cali-xusseyn and co...same goes for beledxaawo, dollo, luuq, ceel-waaq. We don't say we reer-diini or we reer-hassan or wagerdhac or so on will only live by each other... BESIDES THE MAREXAAN LINEAGE IS VERY COMPLICATED AND THEIR ISN'T REALLY A EASY SPLIT UP LIKE IN OGADEN OR MAJEERTAAN.

^^

Without dividing up Reer Diini

No Reer Diini person calls themselves Reer Diini but Reer Dalal or Reer Siyaad, Shirwac, etc. marka adding the 13 or so Reer Diini clans to that list makes sense. That would be over 50 subclans right there.

It has nothing to do with structure, it has more to do with migration and Mareexaan's refusal for any European to enter their lands.

They moved from the Northern regions to the central regions and again to the Southern regions and this is evidenced in the maps that CoolPoisons posted.

The only anthropologist who entered Mareexaan lands was Dr. Cerulli who wrote the "Texts of the consuetudinary law of the Marrehan Somali" after interviewing several Reer Dalal (Bah Ogaadeen) scholars in Ximan.

The Italian delegate (Signor Robecchi) who visited Somalia in the early 1900's remarked:
He crossed the country of the Marehan who are Mohammedan fanatics and glory in killing an infidel.
