Alright my people. I do apologize for posting another topic about relationships but I want to ask you a question. Can you be in a relationship with someone who you really have nothing to discuss with? Someone so different from you that is it is nearly impossible to avoid an awkward situation whenever you are around them unless you are engaged in doing some activity?

Yes. Since the two of you are so different its the perfect opportunity to learn and try new things.

Lol@activity..
It depends on what that activity is...If its purely sexual then there is a relatioship of some sort
And you guys need to discuss it..but if it aint..then you are in a mess..

Have you tried finding out what is causing the awkwardness? If you haven't you should.
Back when I used to get up nasty god forgive me, I loved these types of relationships more than any other because there was no attachment emotionaly or else thus it was just physical which does work for most guys. Possibly there might be physical attraction alone between the two of you or there's something that is generating the awkwardness which you are not aware of.

ummmmm
hmmmm....
If you guys have the most basic principles in common (ie religion, morals n values) everything else can be worked out. However you (both) have to be willing to make that extra effort to make things work. Its not gonna be easy but the sometimes the rewards are far greater than the sacrifice. If you dont think she is worth it all or think that you cant be comitted to that level...then do urself and her the favor of calling it quits...and no you cant be friends with her after u break up...give it like 8 months.

About a year ago, I was at an Islamic lecture. The brother was talking about dating. And he said, paraphrased " Just remember that the person you're dating, will drag you to none other than Jahannum, whereas you can/could share the eternal bliss of Jannah with your spouse, by Allah's Grace."

that would be a difficult relationship...when u have nothing in common the things you can do together becomes quite limited and that kills the relationship.
gotta have some common interests. opposites attract?...i think not...and if they do, doesn't last very long or prolly fight a lot...unhealthy relationship basically.
