There is a delivery date, no one suggested it's being delivered tomorrow.

Al-Shishkabab can't take nothing, and the TFG is a joke. These military equipments are being delivered to Ethiopia.

According to a report, the Ethiopian soldiers sell ammunition and weaponry in the market as well. It is not only the ill-fitted, qat addicted, red eyed mooryaan of the TFG selling his AK-47 to buy a bundle, their ethiopian friends are selling the stuff too.

TFG morale is really low, and corruption and banditry is rampant. The few TFG soldiers who don't sell their weapons have their stockpiles raided and stolen by the Shabbab anyways. So either way, Shabbab gets the military hardware. Ethiopia is starting to have the same problem now too.

At this point any aid, money or weapons for the TFG will just end up in al-Shabbab's hands.

You know, Just the idea that the US is giving/selling military equipment to Somalia is simply amazing and beautiful in itself.

I do find it ironic that the USA would so blatantly and, I might add, pointlessly, violate their own arms embargo on Somalia. An arms embargo that they even voted on strengthening only a year ago.

Are they going to now condemn sanction themselves?

Again James, the sale has a date stamped on it. Indeed there have been negotiations taking place between the US and the TFG for a long awhile now, so they will not be delivered tomorrow morning with FedEx.
