The Meeting with Jendayi Frazier
Came back from the meeting with Jendayi Frazier.
Most of the stuff was same old talk but it was pretty good.
2 questions were posed about Somalia. One about TFG and another about SomaliLand
She said same thing about SomaliLand that they will follow the AU and are not looking to give them recognition. She said the US likes the stability there and would look forward to putting forces on the ground in the future, but nothing till the Bush administration is out of office.
The other question was about the TFG and US support for it. She pretty much went on about how they would like Ethiopians and put UN/AU troops, but no one is up to the job. They said they are trying to organize peace keepers but nothing is looking good.
She said at first they felt/were told that the TFG was not moving because of Gheedi so they supported removing him. They supported Nuur Cadde being put in, but he isn't proving to be too much better.
Interesting comment she made was that they had met with Caddow and Sheik Shariif when the ICU was in power, but saw other elements of the ICU as non negotiable.
Other things she talked about was Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and Nigeria
Any other inquiries u might have?

Re: The Meeting with Jendayi Frazier
Shirib you should have asked her 3 questions.
1. Is ONLF a terrotist organisation.
2.Was her grandfather a habesha
3.How she reacted on Mugabes remarks.

I've read that Sheikh Sharif Ahmad has brokered a possible deal with the USA that would have Ethiopia withdraw.

Are Cadde Muse and Jendayi Frazier brothers?

Re: The Meeting with Jendayi Frazier
James, she even paused and gave a little smirk when she talked about "Ethiopia" wanting to leave, she was like, Ethiopia... pause... well they "claim" to want to leave. Waxaas wax socondoonto ma aho.

Re: The Meeting with Jendayi Frazier
You should have seen her testimony to the Congress. She was questioned about why she downplayed any allegations against Ethiopia as being "alleged" while being very certain about the ONLF, UIC and Eritrea's actions in the Horn of Africa.

Re: The Meeting with Jendayi Frazier
Sade got wider better pix.
I bet that is the roughest crowd she face.
98% were angry Eritreans and Amhara who hate Meles.
The whole talk become a political protest and shouting matches and angry accusations at her. Constant laughing and jeering
but the biggest jeer of all was when one time she was trying to shut the eritreans up by telling them the eri-us problem is not her fault but the eris and that she called Isiyas Afeworki but he never returned her calls and condeleeza rice calls him but he never returns her calls either
let's say half of the elderly east africans in attendance were either on the floor laughing or jumping and clapping while laughing,
even the guys all the way on the front right by her were laughing like they seen the funniest thing in the world
knowing east africans, they probably are thinking Isaiyas "waa nin rag ah"
the eritreans literally took over the talk, like i mean literally...they have been venting for a while
and how well they know somali politics and even our smallest tuulo, they knew what tuulos were talking over by icu even yesterday
