If you have no other options then singing to make a living is tame compared to what can be considered justifiable.

As for the lady with the niqaab you may interprate that she is actually making an objection to the selling of music video/recording in her neighbourhood. She does look like she is buying and the expressions of the group indicate they too are offended or at least unsettled by her actions or statements.
