This is not really a bad thing.

It gives more bargaining power to Sheikh Shariff, because if the ethiopians do not allow ARS to take power with Nur Adde, they would have to deal with the likes of he's excellency Sheikh Awey's.

Sh.Shariif is smart but Aweys has no brains left after banging his head so many times. Let me ask you one question, Do you know the story about Dr. Amna Dirar from sudanese rebels?? Eritrea used his rebels because sudan was supporting Muslim Eritreans against the christian Eritrean president. So the Eritrean government started arming and giving asylum to Dr. Amna Dirar because the christian xabashi in eritrea did not want to give freedom to eritrean muslims. since Sudan government was already weak because of DARFUR problem, eritrean government used these rebels to make sudan more weak. when they reached agreement after forcing Khartum, eritrean president forced Dr. Amna Dirar to pay back $90 million dollars. but the problem in Sudan continues today, even after xabashis in Eritrea used Dr. Amna Dirar as a condom just like they are using AWEYS as another CONDOM.

I will not be surprised if eritrean govt did threaten Aweys to reject everything because eritrea thinks it can make 80 million population ethiopia weak. Just look at the history of Europe, all European nations have prevented one country to achieve hegemony in the region. During the heyday of the Dutch Republic, England/Some german principalities/France would unite against the then powerfull Dutch Republic. During the Napaloen period, all European countries would unite against French hegemony, during 1st WW/2nd WW, all European powers would unite against German hegemony.

As history proves, alliances are made according to shared interests. We have no love for Eritrea but their security interest and ours are linked as TPLF-led Ethiopia is going for the big prize: complete hegemony in the Horn.
