Well if you are living in London and end up commuting best way to take advantage of the long journey is by reading...can't seem to understand why people read the METRO magazine and listen to music on their IPODS...waste of time.
Maths book? don't remind me I have two statistics book which I need to get my head around.
I am guessing that nobody is reading the Quran on a daily basis.

One of the books that I recently read which made a big impact on moi was 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'- I'd been wanting to read it ever since I'd heard of it, since I thought 'The Kite Runner' was a really good book too, and I definatley wasn't disappointed, although it was very sad.
Also I found a book called 'A Hundred Shades of White' by Preethi Nair which I found okay but wanna get the Chinese Seamstress' and a few other classics thrown in too inshallah wheneva i get the time to go to the library.

Mystic_Angel:- Thank you for that short review. 'A thousand splendid suns' is next on my reading list. I've also read the 'Kite Runner' and I loved it completely. The attention to detail & the descriptions of places were just breathtaking.
Zaynah:- Nice name sis. I'm reading 'Orientalism' at the moment by Edward Said. It's about Colonial and Post-Colonial Literature ( Western Literature) and their representations of the people from the Middle East & Asia. So basically it is about Western stereotypes of the people from the Middle East & Asia.

You've got good taste in books! I did manage to read few of Edward Said's books. (Allaha haw naxariisto) Orientalism and this book was one of the most popular and influential academic books ever written.Firefly wrote:Mystic_Angel:- Thank you for that short review.
